Ferrari critical: ‘Clear that we cannot be satisfied’. Ferrari dissatisfied.

Mattia Binotto looks back on last weekend’s Grand Prix with mixed feelings. Ferrari’s team boss saw that his team did not get enough points at the Nurburgring, but still there was good news. The updates that were brought along seem to work well.

“It was a difficult race”, says Binotto, talking to La Gazzetta Dello Sport about the GP of Eifel. According to the Italian chef, it had ‘mainly’ to do with the tyre temperature. “Charles in particular struggled with this after a good start. Blisters started to appear from the first laps, so he couldn’t push as hard as he wanted”.

So the young man from Monaco was pitted earlier and was put on an alternative strategy when, in the closing stages, there was the possibility of going in again because of the safety car. “We chose with him to stay out with the Mediums precisely because of what we had seen in the first part.”

Scuderia Ferrari dissatisfied
In the end Charles Leclerc finished in seventh place, while Sebastian Vettel didn’t manage to finish in the points on a day with no less than five dropouts. “It is clear that we cannot be satisfied with this result but we continue to work to try to improve the overall performance. We have seen some progress in qualifying but what is important is that the updates we are introducing seem to go in the right direction, especially with a view to 2021”, said Mattia Binotto.
