Ferrari are ready to return to the track for the second day of testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Follow along with us for live coverage of the entire Day 2, so you don’t miss a single moment of on-track activity from the Scuderia.
After taking to the track for the first time during the Barcelona tests on Tuesday 27 January, the Maranello-based team will continue working with the new SF-26 throughout today and tomorrow in order to complete the planned testing programme, which so far appears to be running without any setbacks. Below you can find the live report from the full day of running, designed to keep you fully up to date with every Ferrari development.
Up to this point, Ferrari have encountered no issues in Barcelona. During yesterday morning’s session, there was a brief moment of concern following a stoppage on track involving Oliver Bearman’s Haas, but fortunately the cause was not related to the Ferrari power unit. The engine designed in Maranello has now completed a total of 465 laps — equivalent to approximately 2,090 kilometres — across Barcelona, Fiorano and Silverstone, showing no signs of limitation from a reliability standpoint.
This is a highly positive factor for Ferrari at this stage of the programme. Here you can find the recap of the first half of the day, which was completed by Lewis Hamilton at the wheel of the SF-26, before Charles Leclerc is scheduled to take over driving duties in the afternoon session.
As the sun begins to track across the Spanish sky, the emphasis for the Scuderia remains on data correlation and systems validation. With over 2,000 kilometers already in the bank across various platforms, Ferrari appears to have built a rock-solid foundation for the SF-26. The transition from Lewis Hamilton to Charles Leclerc marks another step in the team’s methodical approach to mastering the 2026 regulations. If the afternoon session proves as resilient as the morning, Ferrari will head into the final day of the shakedown as arguably the most prepared team on the grid. Every lap completed without issue is a testament to the winter work done back in Italy, providing the drivers with the confidence to start exploring the true limits of this new generation of machinery.
