Scuderia Ferrari has announced its scheduled driver line-up for the first pre-season testing session, which will take place during the next week in Spain, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Sebastian Vettel will get behind the wheel of the new Scuderia Ferrari car, the SF70H on Monday and Wednesday of next week, while Kimi Raikkonen will drive on Tuesday and Thursday, to complete the first pre-season testing session, which will help the Italian team continue its development process ahead of the 2017 Formula One season.
Expectations are high for the Maranello side and the first impressions seem to be positive, as confirmed by both drivers on Friday, after the official presentation and most importantly the first run of the new car, which took place at the Fiorano track, where Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel got the opportunity to drive as part of a filming day, following the online launch presentation.
Although it is far too early to draw any conclusions after just a few days, the new Scuderia Ferrari car seems to be on the right track and may give both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen the possibility to challenge Red Bull Racing and Mercedes for podium finishes and victories in the 2017 Formula 1 season, which starts on 26 March 2017 in Melbourne, when the 2017 Australian Grand Prix is scheduled. For the moment Scuderia Ferrari is entirely focused on the two pre-season testing sessions which the Italian team will try to exploit in order to finalise every detail ahead of the new Formula 1 championship. Barcelona will host another test from March 7-10, also at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
