What happened during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, with the double retirement of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in the first 20 laps of the race at the Baku City Circuit for reasons of reliability, disappointed the Ferrari fans, drivers and the members of the Maranello team istself. But next Sunday we will race in Canada at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and it is already time for the Prancing Horse to understand what happened in Baku, in order to put in place the necessary counter-moves in terms of reliability so that the failures do not repeat themselves.

For now, the focus is just on the race in Montreal, given the fact that there is only a seven-day gap between the Azerbaijan GP and the next round in Canada. Obviously, time is running out and from Maranello every effort will be made to fully understand the power unit problem that emerged on Charles Leclerc’s car and the hydraulic problem that Carlos Sainz experienced.

As communicated by the team headed by Mattia Binotto earlier today, Charles Leclerc’s engine will arrive at the Maranello factory tomorrow and the team is confident that it will be able to complete an initial analysis of the damaged components by late evening. The work on Carlos Sainz’s car is easier, the hydraulic components of which have already been examined by the men of the team. As regards the upcoming Montreal Grand Prix, the team will implement a solution defined as “short term”, while obviously it will take more time to resolve the reliability problems in the medium and long term.
