While Scuderia Ferrari is going through a very difficult time in Formula 1, despite the high expectations ahead of the start of the season, things are going great for the iconic Italian brand in terms of sales and revenue.
After the first three rounds of the 2023 Formula 1 championship, in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia, the Maranello team has not been able to score a podium finish with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, as Ferrari is already 97 points behind Red Bull in the Constructors’ championship standings and is clearly lacking the pace and performance to challenge the impressive RB19 car, despite all the pre-season hype around the SF-23 which should have been one second faster than the F1-75 and also not affected by the power unit technical issues seen last year.
However, outside the race tracks, business is blooming for the historic Maranello brand, as confirmed by President John Elkann a few days ago. The Italian industrialist announced that Ferrari has record orders amid real money for its luxury vehicles for the next two years.
John Elkann’s message for the Ferrari shareholders
In a recent speech in front of the Ferrari shareholders, John Elkann pointed out that “the launches of the 296 GTS and the Purosangue have enriched the most varied, complete and internationally appreciated product portfolio in our history, guaranteeing a record number of orders until 2024 ” – he explained.

The Ferrari chairman also opened up on the current difficult situation of the Formula 1 team, highlighting that Ferrari has to return to the top and fight for the most ambitious goals, re-iterating that nothing short of the Formula 1 titles is acceptable for the Italian side:
“In Formula 1, the last world championship [2022] saw an improvement in our competitiveness. However, our goal is – and always will be – to win the championship and Fred [Vasseur] and the entire Scuderia team are focused on the attainment of this goal.” – he added.

We all remember the amazing start to the 2022 Formula 1 championship for Scuderia Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc winning two of the first three rounds, in Bahrain and Australia, as the Tifosi expected him to challenge Max Verstappen for the world champion title until the final races of the F1 campaign. Unfortunately a combination of engine reliability problems and strategic blunders by the team saw them finish a distant second behind Red Bull.
