The 2022 Formula 1 pre-season testing session comes to a close at the Bahrain International Circuit on Saturday, with just seven days ahead of the first qualifying session for the Bahrain Grand Prix, which marks the start of the 2022 Formula 1 championship.
On Friday, Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz ended the regular testing session in first place with a lap time 1’33”532 set using C4s, but was then beaten by Kevin Magnussen who finished Friday fastest for Haas after going three-tenths of a second faster than the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz during the team’s extra hour of allocated running. Haas was allowed to recover the time lost during Thursday morning.
The three-day event in Bahrain is the final opportunity for teams to evaluate their cars for the new season and identify the best configurations ahead of the first event of the new Formula One campaign, which is scheduled to take place next weekend at the Bahrain International Circuit.
