As with Mercedes and Red Bull, the battle for third place in the constructors’ championship continues. The momentary advantage that the historic Italian team has over its long-time rival McLaren is a result not only from the good performances shown during the last rounds of the world championship, but also from the certainly not exceptional work done by the British team.
In Qatar, at least according to the current information collected by Ferrari itself, the MCL35M should be able to offer a very high performance given the type of track. In high-speed corners, the papaya-colored car has always shown an advantage over the SF21, without forgetting the aerodynamic efficiency it has, supported by the powerful Mercedes Power Unit.

Despite this, the technicians from Maranello are convinced that they can challenge and beat the English cars. Although in qualifying the qualitative leap achieved after useing of the latest PU specification did not work miracles, in the race the productivity of the ERS system provided good advantages in the most important phases of the race. The use of the overboost managed in conjunction with the SoC mappings have ensured a leap in performance that in Qatar, in all likelihood, will be heavily under scrutiny.
The men in red are looking at this appointment with a lot of interest, aware that although expressing the car’s full potential at an engine level may not be enough to counter McLaren’s potential on this track, regarding the set-up side they are convinced that they can make a difference by optimizing the balance of the SF21.
