Ferrari, Leclerc frustrated with Hamilton’s behavior: his radio messages
The tough weekend in Baku represented yet another misstep in Ferrari’s disappointing 2025 Formula 1 season. Despite expectations and pre-race forecasts, the Scuderia once again failed to unlock the full potential of the SF-25, struggling to showcase the speed they had hoped for. What should have been one of the final chances to fight for victory turned into a wasted opportunity, leaving Charles Leclerc and Ferrari without the desired results. It was a three-day stretch that did little to set the Maranello team on the right path for the season finale or to build a strong foundation for 2026. Although Leclerc has consistently extracted the maximum performance from the SF-25, even in Azerbaijan the outcome—partly due to his qualifying mistake—fell well short of expectations.
Singapore: last call?
Ferrari and Leclerc now hope to quickly move past Baku and reset at the Singapore Grand Prix. At Marina Bay, the Scuderia aims to deliver a strong qualifying performance and possibly recreate a success similar to Carlos Sainz’s memorable victory in 2023, which was Ferrari’s only triumph that year under team principal Fred Vasseur. During commercial events ahead of the race weekend, Leclerc reflected on the struggles of 2025 but also expressed optimism about Singapore. He admitted that it has been a tough season and Ferrari had not been where they wanted, but he felt satisfied with his personal performances. The Monegasque driver said he is eager to help Ferrari return to winning ways and highlighted Singapore as one of his favorite venues. He emphasized his love for street circuits, appreciating the challenge of racing with walls so close, which makes Marina Bay a unique and thrilling test.
Strong start but with caution
That optimism could prove justified, at least judging by the first signs from free practice. In the unusual daytime FP1 session, Ferrari showed encouraging pace, with their cars finishing second and fourth, splitting the dominant Red Bull of Max Verstappen and the rapid McLaren pair. Leclerc secured second place on the timesheets, but he felt it could have been even better if not for an incident with his teammate. On one of his flying laps, Charles Leclerc encountered Lewis Hamilton directly on the racing line at turn 13, losing time as a result. The moment left Charles Leclerc irritated, and he quickly reported the situation over team radio to his race engineer, Bryan Bozzi.
Bozzi: “The points to improve are corners 9 and 13, as well as the last two turns.”
Leclerc: “Yes, at 13 Lewis was in the middle…”
