Scuderia Ferrari have opted to change the power unit on both cars as a ‘precaution’ for this weekend. That’s following on from Charles Leclerc’s DNF at the Bahrain International Circuit in the first race of the season, not to mention the fact he is set for a 10-place grid penalty here already.
Red Bull’s Sergio Perez is also taking a new energy store and new control electronics.
Charles Leclerc is therefore on his second ICE & MGU-H now. Drivers are only allowed to have three per season. So a fourth means a grid penalty. Carlos Sainz also gets a new ICE. No penalty.
