In an interview for Sky Sport Italy, Ferrari CEO Louis C. Camilleri talks about the Maranello team’s 2019 changes, Mick Schumacher, the highly anticipated 2021 F1 regulations and Scuderia Ferrari’s strengths:
On the 2021 Formula 1 regulation changes
“There are still ongoing discussions, but an agreement has not been reached. Everyone has his own ideas about what would be best, I hope that for the future of Formula 1 we will all be able to find common ground, but there are still a lot of complicated things to sort out.”
On Mick Schumacher:
“We want to understand his potential. Mick is talented and has impressed us, so we wanted to give him the opportunity of driving a Formula 1 car. He has been part of our family ever since he was born, but let’s wait and see. He has to take it step by step.”
On Ferrari’s changes ahead of the 2019 Formula 1 season:
“I think that in the passed there has been too much pressure, which many times leads to disagreements. We want to win together and lose together, this is how it’s going to be in the future.”
On Ferrari’s strengths:
“I think the strength of the team is that everybody is calm and relaxed, focused on our common goal and we will get there. The competition is strong, we know that. But what’s important now is to take each race at a time and get the best possible result.”
