Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has commented on the team’s recent Formula 1 results, sending a clear message to the entire Scuderia and its fans. The performances seen so far this season have not been what Ferrari had hoped for, with the Tifosi loudly calling for action from both Benedetto Vigna and John Elkann to fix the situation. The Maranello team has now slipped to the fourth-fastest outfit on the grid, having been overtaken in recent weeks by both Mercedes and Red Bull.
This downturn is particularly surprising given the expectations set before the start of the season. During the winter, the team had openly spoken about returning to title-winning form, but reality has been very different. The SF-25 has turned out to be a car plagued with performance and balance issues, and both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc quickly realized that fighting for the championship was out of reach.
Vigna sends a message to the Ferrari fans
Following the disappointing weekend in Singapore, the Tifosi called for a meeting between the Ferrari leadership to find a way to turn things around. That meeting eventually took place, though for different reasons. Both John Elkann and Benedetto Vigna visited Maranello for the Ferrari Capital Markets Days 2025, where the company also unveiled its upcoming all-electric road car set to debut next year.
During the press conference, Benedetto Vigna addressed the situation directly, sharing his views on Ferrari’s current Formula 1 campaign. “Last year, we made a promise to return to winning ways in motorsport,” Benedetto Vigna said. “We achieved that goal in Endurance racing, but in Formula 1, the road ahead is still long. We need a decisive breakthrough — we must raise our standards even further.”
The Ferrari CEO also expressed his gratitude and sense of responsibility toward the team’s global fanbase. “This is a duty we owe to our fans across every corner of the world. The passion and trust of our supporters deserve that we do everything possible to make Ferrari a leading force again. The Prancing Horse cannot be satisfied with average performances,” he stated firmly.
