Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz has completed the planned 50 kilometers for him on the Filming Day prepared by Ferrari at the Fiorano track in preparation for the Austrian Grand Prix, which will take place at the Red Bull Ring this weekend.
The Spanish driver started running with an SF-23 in standard configuration, while video shots were also taken for sponsors. It’s interesting that alongside Carlos, on the track there was also Alessandro Pier Guidi with the 499P in preparation for the 6 Hours of Monza on April 9, offering the Ferrari fans gathered at the few visible points of the track a truly unusual spectacle, if not rare.
On the SF-23 Evo, after collecting data in the “baseline” version, a new front wing was installed, introducing the first update of a very substantial package that also includes a different floor and a rear wing designed for Spielberg. Carlos Sainz completed the work with a final three-lap run, including a recorded practice start.
During the lunch break, the Scuderia mechanics will prepare the red car for Charles Leclerc, who will continue both promotional and technical work. Since Ferrari cannot evaluate the updates in the only scheduled free practice session in Austria, as the Styrian Grand Prix is the second race with the Sprint race on Saturday and qualifying moved to Friday, they decided to use the day for promotional filming and also conduct tests with the new parts, seeking on-track correlation of the data seen in the wind tunnel and simulator.
