Ferrari, Fred Vasseur looks at Hungary
The Ferrari seen at Silverstone certainly didn’t ignite the hearts of its fans, with a race pace that was once again questionable and defensive strategic choices that didn’t take into account the track changes compared to the rest of the weekend. As a result, the Scuderia found itself behind even Alex Albon’s Williams, also due to a poor timing of the Safety Car.
However, team principal Frederic Vasseur invites everyone to look at the bigger picture and not just the individual Grand Prix: at Silverstone, he continued to emphasize how the SF-23 has made significant progress in terms of consistency and drivability, and that every race can tell its own story from second place onwards. It may not be the position Ferrari fans want, but it’s the only one they can realistically aim for this year.

“We need to reset every single weekend. We are in a group that ranges from second to tenth position, which can shift from one session to another, from top to bottom, and we shouldn’t go into the next event with full confidence. But I think the most important thing is to have an open mind and keep pushing: nothing is decided, and I hope it stays that way until the end of the season.” – the Frenchman pointed out at the end of the British Grand Prix.
“Since the beginning of the season, we were looking for more consistency and drivability from the car. And I think we have made some decent progress. The first one was Barcelona, but the Montmelo circuit was quite difficult, while Montreal went much better for us. And then we made another step forward in Austria. We are heading in this direction, we are focused on this, and we have made good strides. But it’s not the end, the fight will be long. Each weekend will depend on the track, the asphalt, the weather conditions. We will have to start over every weekend, as the field is so tight that two tenths can put you on the edge of the points zone.” – Scuderia Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur concluded.
