New Scuderia Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur has outlines one of the main area of improvement that the Maranello team will focus on as preparations continue for the 2023 Formula One championship.
The Italian side’s challenger for the new F1 season was officially presented to the world on Tuesday morning in a great event put on at the Fiorano circuit, where Charles Leclerc and his teammate Carlos Sainz even got the opportunity to take part in the initial shakedown in front of many Tifosi.
Following a promising start to the 2022 F1 championship, the Italian side was not able to live up to expectations of a title duel against Red Bull, who easily went on to secure the titles. As a result, team principal Mattia Binotto handed in his resignation as ex-Alfa Romeo boss Frederic Vasseur was appointed at the top of the Ferrari Racing Division.
Interviewed after the SF-23 car launch event in Fiorano, his first major moment as Ferrari Team Principal, Frederic Vasseur seemed to be well aware of where he wants the Maranello team to focus.

“I see the priority for everybody is the reliability because that’s where you are at this stage of the season. If you don’t have the reliability, then you are not able to do these three days [of pre-season testing in Bahrain] and then you start on the wrong foot. We have done the mileage we needed to do on the dyno and we are all optimistic, but only [when we are in] Bahrain will tell is where we are in terms of engine performance. So far it is ok. The vision that you have for the team, when you are outside of the team, is always a bit different. It has been a very short notice for me [to join Ferrari], and I have spent the past four weeks trying to understand exactly what’s happened in the team and what happened last year, but I won’t draw any conclusions before the first event.” – the French manager explained in an interview for the Italian media after the car presentation.
