Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc was involved in an unfortunate incident during the 2023 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, the twelfth event of the Formula 1 championship, which was held earlier today at the Hungaroring circuit. The Ferrari driver, during the pit stop to change to hard tires, remained stationary for almost ten seconds, rejoining the track after losing several positions. The reason for such a prolonged pit stop at the Hungaroring has been clarified by Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur, just minutes after a perfect stop for his teammate Carlos Sainz.
What happened
During an interview with Sky Sport, team principal Frederic Vasseur confirmed that the cause of the long stop was a problem with the wheel gun during the tire replacement.
