Through a letter published on his LinkedIn profile, Turkish engineer Enes Tas has announced his farewell to Ferrari: “After twelve incredible years, it’s hard to put into words what this journey has meant to me. Walking through the Ferrari gates for the first time, I could never have imagined that this dream would last so long.”
“I have been truly fortunate to work alongside such talented and wonderful people, many of whom have left a lasting mark on both my career and my life. This chapter,” the note continues, “is one I will always cherish. A big thank you to everyone who made this experience so special. I wish the team all the best for the rest of the championship.”
“Now it’s time for a short six-month leave before starting an equally exciting chapter… Still in Formula 1, of course—once it gets into your blood, it’s hard to let go. Thank you, thank you, thank you…”
Who is Enes Tas? Technical profile: F1 cooling specialist
The departure of Enes Tas can be attributed to the planned staff rotation within the continuous restructuring spearheaded by Fred Vasseur and implemented by Loic Serra. Regardless of the circumstances, it represents the loss of a figure with specialized expertise in an increasingly sensitive area of modern Formula 1: the integration of aerodynamics and thermal management.
Having joined Ferrari in 2014 following experiences at McLaren and within the Scandinavian automotive sector, Tas built his internal career path to become the Aerodynamics Cooling Team Leader in 2021. His contribution focused on the development of cooling systems, particularly in the design of brake ducts and the definition of power unit cooling layouts—key elements for balancing aerodynamic efficiency with mechanical reliability.
The departure of Enes Tas after a decade-long tenure therefore marks a significant shift in Ferrari’s technical ranks as the team continues to realign its internal structure under the leadership of Fred Vasseur and Loic Serra. This move underscores the ongoing evolution of the Scuderia’s technical department during this transitional phase for the Prancing Horse.
