In anticipation of the 2024 Formula 2 Championship, the Italian team Prema has decided to change one of its two drivers. In 2023, the seats were occupied by Frederik Vesti and Oliver Bearman. However, it had already been communicated several months ago that the winner of the Formula Regional and Mercedes Junior driver, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, would skip F3 to debut directly in F2 while remaining with Prema.
This left only one seat available for the 2024 season, a position secured by Oliver Bearman, who has been confirmed with the team led by René Rosin. The eighteen-year-old British driver, who concluded his rookie campaign in the category in 2023, is preparing to compete in his second season in the junior championship. The driver will aim to improve on his already exceptional results from this year, including four victories, three of which came in the main races, and three pole positions.
Ollie Bearman joined Prema for the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship after winning two Formula 4 titles in 2021. He made incredible progress race after race, finishing third on equal points and contributing to the Team Championship title achieved by PREMA.
As the 2024 series will offer an exciting turn with the debut of the brand-new F2 cars, Oliver Bearman is looking forward to another outstanding season, once again with the support of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

The team principal of the Italian squad, René Rosin, stated: “It’s fantastic to have Ollie with us again for another year after the great seasons he has experienced so far. The way he has adapted, improved, and developed is exceptional, and we look forward to seeing the progress they will bring us further. We also believe that the experience gained this year will help him and the team adapt to the new car. It will undoubtedly be an interesting and promising experience.”
Ollie himself expressed his happiness at staying with Prema for the 2024 season. These are his comments: “I am really happy to join PREMA Racing again in Formula 2. Thanks to them, I have come a long way as a driver and as a person in these two years, and I am excited to continue the work we started in the next season.” – the Ferrari junior concluded.
