With today’s filming day, Scuderia Ferrari has debuted the 2.0 version of the 2024 single-seater at the Fiorano circuit. Let’s discover all the (visible) differences between the base Ferrari SF-24 and the EVO we’ll see in the next round of the 2024 Formula 1 championship, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the Imola circuit.
Ferrari is on the attack, that’s the message conveyed by the updates introduced on Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s car. After the first part of the 2024 Formula 1 season raced with an “old” car, the Ferrari 2024 has evolved with a more aggressive look. Let’s discover together, thanks to track photos, the differences between the Ferrari SF-24 at the beginning of the season and the EVO.
At the front, we don’t notice any immediately visible changes with the wing remaining unchanged from its debut. The car’s nose shouldn’t have undergone modifications, but it seems to have been hollowed out underneath to increase airflow to the Venturi Channels. Moving towards the center of the car, the first significant differences with the SF-24 seen up to Miami begin to appear.
There’s a radical change in the inlet of the sidepods, which now adopt a mixed solution, with the upper lip much more extended than the lower one. Additionally, the vertical air intake has been integrated with the horizontal one to better feed the radiators of the SF-24.
A very interesting modification is found in the area immediately adjacent to the Halo, where a new aerodynamic profile makes its appearance. Up to the Miami Grand Prix, we saw a carbon portion connecting the halo to the sidepods, but now the solution has radically changed. The solution we find now on the SF-24 is entirely anchored to the upper part of the sidepods.

The shape is quite peculiar and has the clear function of an air deflector, with the upper end curved outward. The task of this element is to guide the air over the downwash of the sidepods and energize it.

Moving further back, we can find a modification linked to the one previously described. The engine cover has a new shape in the area just behind the halo to accommodate the new larger air vent. To improve the extraction of hot air, the rear part where the Santander sponsor’s logo is present has been modified. A bulge has been created to the left of the ‘S’ to accelerate the flow of hot air and direct it towards the rear with greater energy. The rear wing also changes, with the upper element cut at the ends, significantly useful to seek greater efficiency and local load.
