The recruitment campaign at Scuderia Ferrari is continuing successfully. Despite its history and past success, the Maranello team has been struggling to attract top foreign technicians and engineers from rival teams, as it requires employees to speak Italian, and many are not willing to make such a big leap in their lives. The reason is primarily a matter of socialization, especially outside the factory, since English is the mother tongue in various departments.
Yet, with Frederic Vasseur’s arrival, there has been significant movement of people at the gates of Maranello, particularly from Mercedes. At the end of March, Loic Serra will leave Brackley to join the Italian side, and with him, other aerodynamicists will also depart. One of these, for example, is George Dray, an aerodynamics engineer for three years, who has already started working for the Prancing Horse last month.
George Dray is an engineer with multidisciplinary experience in Formula 1 covering aerodynamic development, mechanical design and production assembly.
Some rumors suggest that there will be two more people from the same department arriving from Mercedes to Scuderia Ferrari. Is it the Lewis Hamilton effect or the result of the French team principal’s work?
