Yesterday Scuderia Ferrari officially confirmed the presentation date of the single-seater that will race in Formula 1 in the 2023 championship. The 675 project will be unveiled on February 14th (Valentine’s Day) and after many years of unveiling through pre-recorded videos and then broadcast online it could finally be once again time for Ferrari to return to unveiling its 2023 car with a special event, also followed by a shakedown to verify that everything is working in view of the only three days of winter testing scheduled to take place in Bahrain on the Sakhir circuit from 23 to 25 February (Sunday 5 March the 2023 Formula 1 championship will start at the Bahrain International circuit).
As reported by today’s edition of Il Corriere dello Sport, the venue for the presentation could be Maranello as per tradition or more likely the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola where the 675 project would be immediately seen on track, as happened last October when, on the occasion of the Finali Mondiali Ferrari the Prancing Horse presented the 499P, the new Hypercar that will go in search of glory in the WEC 2023 and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Ferrari 2023 car “is already finalized, except for the ‘aesthetic’ elements (sponsor writings, Red gradation, etc.) – writes Il Resto del Carlino – it was created by the staff of Mattia Binotto, outgoing head of the racing department. The engineers responsible of each department are the same: Enrico Cardile, David Sanchez, Enrico Gualtieri. Chassis, aerodynamics, engine: a product that is the result of collective work that comes from afar”.
Frederic Vasseur, who will take over from Mattia Binotto as team principal of the Maranello team, will manage what everyone hopes to be an engineering jewel on the track. The mission of the former Alfa Romeo Sauber boss is to minimize if not eliminate the operational errors that occurred in the 2022 Formula 1 season at the strategic level. The reliability of the power unit and the degradation of the tires are instead aspects that were addressed during the design stage.
