It has been an incredibly difficult time for Lewis Hamilton, as his faithful bulldog Roscoe fought for his life. The ten-year-old dog had developed a severe case of pneumonia, making it hard for him to breathe. On Thursday evening, in an effort to prevent further suffering, the veterinarians decided to sedate him. However, while conducting some routine checks, his heart suddenly stopped.
Thanks to the immediate intervention of the veterinary team, Roscoe’s heartbeat was restored, although it became necessary to induce a medically-induced coma. Just moments ago, Lewis Hamilton shared the heartbreaking update that no one wanted to hear: Roscoe did not make it.
Lewis reflected on the ordeal, saying that after four days in intensive care, during which Roscoe fought with every ounce of his strength, he had to make the most difficult decision of his life and say goodbye to his loyal friend. Roscoe never gave up, fighting until the very end. Lewis expressed his immense gratitude for having shared his life with such a beautiful soul, calling Roscoe an angel and a true friend. He described welcoming Roscoe into his life as the best decision he ever made and said he would cherish forever the memories they created together. While he had previously lost his dog Coco, Lewis admitted that he had never faced the heart-wrenching choice of having to put a pet down.

He also acknowledged the shared pain of losing a beloved pet, expressing empathy for everyone who has experienced such a loss. Although the experience was incredibly difficult, he emphasized that having Roscoe had been one of the most beautiful parts of his life. Lewis thanked everyone for the love and support they had shown to Roscoe over the years, noting how special it had been to see and hear the affection from fans and friends alike.
Lewis Hamilton concluded his heartfelt post by revealing the exact moment of Roscoe’s passing: “Roscoe passed away on Sunday evening, September 28, in my arms.”
