Stefano Domenicali has analysed the difficult situation inside Ferrari: the Formula 1 CEO is offering solutions to the Scuderia. The Maranello team is going through a complicated moment, with the 2025 season bringing little joy to its supporters. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have not hidden the challenges linked to an SF-25 that has never been able to fight for victories. Coming to Ferrari’s aid is Stefano Domenicali, the current CEO of Formula 1.
Stefano has a long history at Maranello and is certainly one of the figures who knows the environment best. The 2026 season represents a major opportunity, but it could also turn into a double-edged sword. If the car built under the new regulations does not prove competitive, the situation could become critical even on the driver market side, with Charles Leclerc potentially looking elsewhere.
Stefano Domenicali and the pressure felt at Maranello
The team is preparing for the final round of the season in Abu Dhabi, closing a 2025 campaign that ended with fourth place in the constructors’ standings. In an interview with Sky Sport F1, Stefano Domenicali shared his view on what is happening at Ferrari and on the intentions for the future.
“Talking from the outside is always difficult,” the Formula 1 CEO said. “I know very well what it means to deal with a pressure that can often feel overwhelming. But precisely when it is overwhelming, you need the strength to lift your head and stop looking for excuses.”
Stefano Domenicali expressed what he believes is the direction the team needs to take: “I think that from an overall point of view, the company is giving great confidence to Fred, to the drivers and to the team to react. There is a new and important technical project that must become a starting point,” he stated.
“It is essential to feel the responsibility to react, and I believe this is the attitude that the people in Maranello must adopt, without letting themselves be crushed by the anxiety of not achieving certain performances.” According to his view, ahead of next season it is necessary to change course also — and above all — on an emotional level.
The topic of pressure inside Ferrari has come up several times throughout the season. On some occasions, even the drivers themselves highlighted it. The team clearly needs to bring to the track a car capable of fighting for the championship, and doing so would also help lift the atmosphere around the team, which strongly influences the Italian outfit.
