For the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix, there will be a significant change on the grid: Sebastian Vettel will not be participating. This absence makes Lewis Hamilton the sole driver to have started in every Singapore Grand Prix held at Marina Bay Circuit so far.

If Lewis Hamilton emerges victorious at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, he will tie with Sebastian Vettel as the driver with the most wins at Marina Bay Street Circuit, as Hamilton has already secured four wins at the track. At the moment, Mercedes and Red Bull are neck and neck with four victories each at the Singapore Grand Prix. Therefore, either team could extend the record to five victories.

Singapore, one of the two new street tracks introduced in the 2008 Formula One season, has maintained its presence on the calendar unlike Valencia, which was dropped after the 2012 event. The challenge of racing at Marina Bay Street Circuit is highly cherished by drivers, teams, and fans alike. The 23-turn track, originally designed by Herman Tilke and later modified by KBR Inc., an American engineering company, covers an area of 799,000 square meters, equivalent to 80 football pitches.

Throughout the Marina Bay Circuit, drivers pass by various Singapore landmarks, including the Fullerton Hotel, the Anderson Bridge, and the iconic Singapore Flyer, which opened in the same year as the inaugural Grand Prix here. The track boasts several unique features, notably being the only circuit that passes under a section of grandstand between Turns 18 and 19. Although most corners are referred to by numbers, some do have specific names.
