The sixth and final Sprint of 2024 took place in Qatar, and the outcome for Ferrari is far from positive. However, there is one particularly concerning statistic: here’s what it is.
Ferrari, 0 Sprint victories in 4 years
Since the introduction of this new format, Ferrari has not won a single one of the 18 Sprint races held so far.
The record for Sprint wins belongs to Red Bull, with 12 (11 by Max Verstappen and 1 by Sergio Pérez), while Mercedes and McLaren are tied with 3 each (2 for Bottas, 1 for Russell, and 2 for Piastri, 1 for Norris, respectively).
Considering that each Sprint race since 2022 awards the winner 8 points, Ferrari has missed many valuable opportunities.
Even more thought-provoking is the fact that on two occasions (Austria 2022 and the United States 2024), Ferrari managed to secure victory in the Sunday race.
This suggests that the car’s potential has likely gone untapped during the first part of Sprint weekends, costing crucial points in the Constructors’ Championship. And in a season as tightly contested as this year’s, every result matters.
