Welcome, FormulaPassion.it readers. We are live to bring you all the action from FP3 of the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix weekend in Barcelona. The session is scheduled to start at 12:30 local Italian time and will run for one hour, concluding at 13:30.
This is set to be a crucial session for every team on the grid, as engineers and drivers work through the final setup adjustments before qualifying later this afternoon and Sunday’s race. The last hour of practice often provides valuable clues about each team’s true performance level, making it one of the most important sessions of the weekend.
Friday’s running at the Circuit de Catalunya highlighted what appeared to be a fascinating battle between Mercedes and McLaren. George Russell narrowly edged Oscar Piastri in FP1, while Lando Norris responded in the second session by beating his fellow Briton by just nine thousandths of a second.
Ferrari, meanwhile, seemed to be taking a more measured approach. Charles Leclerc remained close to the front-runners but was not quite able to match their pace outright, focusing instead on long-run performance and gaining a better understanding of the team’s latest upgrade package. The race pace looked reasonably encouraging, but there are still questions to be answered before qualifying.
