Heat and high humidity are expected to define the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix weekend at Marina Bay, while the possibility of rain remains another factor Formula 1 teams will need to monitor. The greatest precipitation risk is currently forecast for Saturday afternoon, although conditions are not expected to resemble the torrential downpour that disrupted the previous race weekend at Sepang.
Formula 1 has moved from Malaysia to nearby Singapore, where the championship will stage its first night race of the season on the demanding Marina Bay Street Circuit. After heavy rain before the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia forced the start to be delayed, attention has naturally turned to whether another major pre-race storm could affect the next event.
Singapore GP weather forecast does not point to another Sepang-style downpour
According to forecasts provided by AccuWeather, a repeat of the violent Sepang rain is not currently expected at any point during the Singapore weekend. However, precipitation cannot be ruled out entirely, particularly on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday carries the highest rain probability of the three days at 55%, although that figure drops to 25% for the Sprint itself. Friday is also forecast to have a 25% chance of rain, with the same probability currently expected for Sunday’s main Grand Prix.
The weather will add another variable to a weekend already complicated by the Sprint format. The complete 2026 Singapore Grand Prix schedule shows how little practice time teams will have before the competitive sessions begin.
Heat and humidity set to be the main Singapore challenge
The more predictable challenge for the drivers will be the heat. Temperatures are expected to exceed 30°C on both Friday and Saturday, with a maximum of 34°C forecast for Friday and 32°C for Saturday.
Conditions should become cooler when the cars compete later in the day. The temperature is forecast to be around 27°C for Saturday’s Sprint and also 27°C on Sunday, when the main Grand Prix takes place.
High humidity will add to the physical demands, with conditions expected to be similar to those experienced in Malaysia. Marina Bay already places significant demands on drivers because of its street-circuit layout, making the combination of heat and humidity another important factor throughout the weekend. Ferrari’s broader challenge around the venue is explored in the Marina Bay circuit analysis.

For Ferrari and the rest of the grid, the forecast therefore points to a weekend where heat and humidity appear more certain than heavy rain. Nevertheless, Saturday’s higher precipitation probability means teams cannot completely ignore the possibility of changing conditions during an already compressed Sprint weekend.
The combination of high temperatures, humidity and limited preparation time will add another layer to the challenge identified by Fred Vasseur ahead of Ferrari’s Singapore Sprint weekend.
