The track’s proximity to Istanbul gives you a perfect chance to explore this fascinating city – while for the more suntan-focused Formula 1 fans, you’re just a short internal flight away from some of the country’s supreme beaches in the south of the country, or the Black Sea resorts in the east.
Seven previous Formula 1 races have been held at Istanbul Park. From those seven races there have been five different winners. Felipe Massa is the only driver to have won multiple Turkish Grands Prix. He won the event in three consecutive seasons in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Massa’s three wins also mean that Ferrari are the most successful team at the circuit with three wins, while McLaren are the only other team to have taken multiple wins at the event. Ferrari and Mercedes are tied as the most successful engine manufacturer at the track, each with three wins.
Follow us later in the afternoon for the latest updates and results from the Istanbul Park, as the qualifying session for the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix is about to get underway, with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc at the wheel of the SF1000.
