Chequered flag in the F1 Monaco GP, the drivers’ and constructors’ standings are updated: finally, some valuable points for Ferrari. Monte Carlo hosted the second round of the first European triple-header, which will conclude next week in Barcelona. A trio of races that shapes the championship, while we await the Spanish technical directive: how will the competitive balance on track shift ahead of Canada?
Formula 1 arrives in Monte Carlo for the eighth round of the championship. A captivating and challenging circuit, where driver bravery can still make a difference beyond car performance. Overtaking during the race is difficult, making qualifying vitally important. Monaco’s Saturday is undoubtedly one of the most thrilling days of the season — and this year was no exception.
Pole position went to Lando Norris, who narrowly beat Charles Leclerc in a revived Ferrari. Behind them starts Oscar Piastri, followed at the end of the session by Lewis Hamilton. However, the Brit was penalised at the end of the session for impeding Max Verstappen. The two Mercedes cars were less fortunate, both retiring in Q3 (due to an incident involving Andrea Kimi Antonelli) and in Q2 (mechanical issue for George Russell).
