Ferrari chasing Sprint pole position – Live coverage will begin at 22:15
Good evening dear readers of ScuderiaFans.com and welcome back to our live coverage dedicated to the Sprint Qualifying session of the 2026 Miami Grand Prix.
In the only free practice session, Charles Leclerc set the fastest time with the updated Ferrari SF-26, finishing ahead of Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri, confirming the strong early pace shown by the Scuderia in Miami.
Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli did not complete a lap on soft tyres at the end of the session, as a problem was detected on his Mercedes power unit, preventing him from fully evaluating his qualifying performance potential.
SQ1 will get underway at 22:30, and during the first two sessions drivers will be required to use medium compound tyres. In SQ3, however, drivers will be allowed to switch to the soft compound. It will be interesting to see whether there will be clear differences compared to previous qualifying sessions, especially now that regulatory changes have been introduced regarding energy management and deployment strategies.
