
After a week-long break, the roar of the engines returns for the Miami weekend. The first of three American rounds is also the second Sprint weekend of the year, which means teams will have only one free practice session to find the right direction. Who will make the most of it? The circus returns to the Florida circuit one year after Lando Norris’s first Formula 1 victory. While that win was helped by a favorable Safety Car, much has changed in the months since.
Today, McLaren heads into Miami as the team to beat, leading both the constructors’ and drivers’ standings with Oscar Piastri. But the teams will have just a single free practice session to get everything in place before diving into the second Sprint weekend of the season.
Could this be a redemption opportunity for Ferrari? Leclerc performed very well on this track last year, securing two front rows and two podiums despite practically missing the free practice session due to a crash. Hamilton, meanwhile, remains more of a question mark, arriving in Miami eager to rediscover the pace lost in recent races.

The Miami time zone, six hours behind Italy, means we’ll be following the action in the evening this weekend. The Sprint format includes the following session schedule: Friday – FP1 and Sprint Shootout, Saturday – Sprint Race and Grand Prix qualifying, Sunday – the race.

The Miami GP could bring us the second wet race of the year after the season opener in Australia. At least teams can expect more spring-like weather, leaving behind the scorching heat of Saudi Arabia.

Temperatures over the weekend are expected to hover around 25–26°C during the scheduled sessions, but the weather conditions could bring some surprises. No issues are expected on Friday, which should be sunny, while the first hints of rain may appear as early as Saturday. Rain is also possible on Sunday, which could impact the race.
