Miami Grand Prix LIVE, race commentary: Max Verstappen and Kimi Antonelli challenge the McLarens, Ferrari starts from behind and looks to recover. In Florida, Mercedes’ young talent from Bologna shines once again, managing to secure the third-fastest time in qualifying. Ahead of him are only Lando Norris and the reigning world champion from the Netherlands. A poor showing for both SF-25s: the drivers are loudly demanding updates.
Miami’s Sunday promises plenty of excitement. After a chaotic Sprint Race, which began in heavy rain – and included Charles Leclerc’s crash – and ended on dry tyres, the Grand Prix might be just as eventful. Starting from pole is the usual Max Verstappen, once again beating out Lando Norris, who lines up second. The day after the birth of his first daughter, the Dutchman shows no signs of slowing down.
On the second row are Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Oscar Piastri. The two young drivers, involved in a controversial start on Saturday, find themselves side by side once more. Sparks are expected, with the Bolognese eager not to waste this chance to claim his first career podium. Behind them are a less impressive George Russell and a radiant Carlos Sainz.
The first of the Ferraris must settle for the fourth row, also behind the other Williams of Alexander Albon. But while Charles Leclerc at least made it into Q3, Lewis Hamilton’s fate was different. Third on Saturday, the Briton will start twelfth. Updates are needed, but first, a big comeback is essential.
