F1 Live Milan 2027 has attracted its first potential venue proposal as plans develop for Formula 1’s major three-day event in the Italian city from February 18 to 20. Fondazione Fiera Milano president Giovanni Bozzetti has offered the city’s exhibition system, facilities and expertise as Formula 1 prepares an ambitious fan festival designed to extend far beyond a traditional indoor season launch.
Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali revealed during the Monza weekend that F1 Live Milan will bring together all 11 teams, their drivers and team principals ahead of the 2027 season. The concept follows the success of F1 75 Live in London in 2025, but the Milan project is intended to become something broader: an event capable of involving the city itself and creating what Stefano Domenicali describes as a “Formula One Week”. Formula 1 has confirmed the February 18-20 dates, although the specific venue has not yet been officially announced.
Stefano Domenicali wants a Formula One Week in Milan
The idea goes well beyond simply presenting the new Formula 1 cars. Stefano Domenicali sees an opportunity to use Milan’s international profile and experience with major events to create a period in which Formula 1 takes over the city at a time of year when motorsport is traditionally quieter.
“Our country is famous for Fashion Week and we have to make sure that, at a time when people aren’t talking about F1, something that I call Formula One Week will be in Milan. In February, everyone will come here,” Stefano Domenicali said.
The objective is therefore to turn those February days into a major international attraction, bringing the Formula 1 world to Milan precisely when attention would normally be lower between seasons. The 2027 event will follow the London spectacle held in 2025, which Formula 1 says was broadcast across 37 territories and attracted 7.5 million viewers to the live broadcast.
Fiera Milano steps forward for F1 Live Milan 2027
Giovanni Bozzetti, president of Fondazione Fiera Milano, has responded immediately to the challenge by offering the facilities and expertise of Milan’s exhibition system to support the event.
“The Milan exhibition system is ready to collaborate and make its expertise available to contribute to the best possible success of F1 Live Milan,” Giovanni Bozzetti said.
He also praised the work that has already gone into bringing an event of this scale to the city.
“My praise goes to Stefano Domenicali and Geronimo La Russa, President of the Automobile Club d’Italia, for bringing an event of such international significance to Milan. It is a result that confirms the ability of the city and Lombardy to attract major events and, at the same time, enhances the role of Italy, a country with an extraordinary tradition in automotive manufacturing that has helped write the history of Formula 1.”
The Automobile Club d’Italia has already welcomed Formula 1’s decision to bring the 2027 season presentation to Milan, with Geronimo La Russa describing the announcement as an important result for Italy and highlighting the country’s deep historical connection with the championship.
F1 Live Milan could expand across the city
Giovanni Bozzetti also outlined the wider objective behind the proposal, echoing Stefano Domenicali’s ambition to create something comparable in scale and visibility to Milan’s best-known international events.
“The objective now is to ensure that, around F1 Live Milan, as President Domenicali suggested, a genuine Formula One Week can be created, capable of involving the city and the fans, showcasing the region and providing a major international platform for the excellence of Made in Italy.”
Giovanni Bozzetti added that Milan has already demonstrated through fashion and design that it knows how to build events capable of engaging the entire city, and that its exhibition system is ready to play its part on this occasion as well.
The concept is to replicate elements of the Fashion Week or Fuorisalone model, allowing the Formula 1 event to move beyond exhibition halls and spill into Milan’s streets and squares, turning it into a shared experience rather than an attraction confined to a single building.
That ambition fits Formula 1’s officially announced format. The Milan Fan Festival is scheduled to run throughout all three days from February 18 to 20, while F1 The Show will take place on the evening of February 18 and feature drivers and team principals from all 11 Formula 1 teams alongside music and entertainment. Further details about the festival programme and venue are due to be revealed in the coming months.
What F1 Live Milan means for Italy and Ferrari fans
Between the Milan Fan Festival spread across the city and the central F1 The Show event scheduled for the evening of February 18, Italy is once again positioning itself at the geographical and emotional heart of Formula 1 through its deep automotive heritage.
That connection runs through the legend of Ferrari, the excellence of Italy’s Motor Valley, including Racing Bulls in Faenza, and the emergence of Kimi Antonelli, who is inspiring a new generation of Italian Formula 1 fans.
Milan also sits only a short distance from Monza, one of Formula 1’s most historic venues and the home of the Italian Grand Prix. Formula 1 itself highlighted Milan’s status as a global centre of culture, creativity and design, as well as its proximity to Monza, when explaining the choice of the city for F1 Live in 2027.
The event reinforces Formula 1’s role not only as a sporting competition but also as a global platform capable of mobilising cities, identities and communities. After the major technical changes introduced for the current era, fans can follow how the championship reached this point through the 2026 Formula 1 calendar before attention turns towards the build-up to 2027.
For three days next February, the plan is for Milan to become the home of that Formula 1 experience. The exact venue still awaits confirmation, but with Fiera Milano now offering its capabilities and Stefano Domenicali pushing for a genuine Formula One Week, the scale of the project is beginning to take shape.
