Miami Grand Prix Sprint Race: starting grid
Formula 1 returns in Miami after a one-month break, with the East Coast event once again featuring the Sprint format. Saturday, May 2, 2026, marks the return to racing, as the Sprint Race begins at 18:00 (Italian time). The race will be contested over 19 laps around the circuit built around the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins.
On the front row, reigning world champion Lando Norris lines up in pole position for McLaren, aiming to convert his qualifying performance into a strong result. Alongside him, Andrea Kimi Antonelli continues his impressive run of form, securing a place on the front row.
Ferrari will be looking to recover positions after SQ3 did not reflect their earlier pace. The final qualifying attempts from Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton resulted in fourth and seventh positions respectively, meaning the Maranello team faces a challenging Sprint Race as they target a move up the order.
