At the end of the first day of track action in Las Vegas, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton outlined what he intends to adjust on his Ferrari as the weekend progresses.
Since the Las Vegas Grand Prix was first added to the Formula 1 calendar, the Sin City street circuit has consistently proven to be a track where the Maranello-built Ferrari tends to shine. That trend continued on the opening day of running for the Las Vegas weekend, with both Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton showing a competitive level straight away.
The words of Lewis Hamilton after Friday in Vegas
The former Mercedes driver ended FP1 in eleventh place and FP2 in tenth place. Despite the results, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion appeared in good spirits when speaking to the media. “The day was positive. In the first session I felt good but I wasn’t able to complete a clean lap, and the same happened again in the second session. We worked on the car between FP1 and FP2 and the improvements were clear. Then I was unlucky with the yellow and red flags, just like everyone else. I’m looking forward to getting back in the car,” Lewis Hamilton said at the end of the second free practice session for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
“Especially in FP1 the track was very slippery, but it improved quite quickly. Obviously the cold doesn’t help. As for qualifying, I don’t think I will change the car. I’m very happy,” added the Ferrari number 44.
