A worrying statistic at Scuderia Ferrari, involving Max Verstappen, perfectly exposes the Maranello team’s issues in recent years.
In several weekends throughout the 2023 Formula One championship, Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc has secured pole positions without converting them into victories.
The Statistic
The extremely negative data for the Prancing Horse is as follows: out of Charles Leclerc’s 22 pole positions, Max Verstappen has achieved ten victories, while the Monegasque driver has only managed to take four race wins.
In essence, it is well known that Scuderia Ferrari does not have a strong race pace, but “giving away” almost 50% of victories when starting from the first position should make the Maranello team reflect as they focus on the design and development of the car for the 2024 Formula 1 campaign.
There is no doubt that the Italian side is putting in every effort to return to the top of Formula 1, but it must be admitted that there is a lot of work to be done because the light at the end of the tunnel only appears in the distance.
