Today (and perhaps tomorrow), Ferrari is conducting a scheduled test. Oliver Bearman is driving the F1-75 at Fiorano, the ground-effect car from the 2022 Formula One season. Tomorrow, it might be Antonio Giovinazzi’s turn.
Just days after his splendid Formula 1 debut with Scuderia Ferrari, finishing in seventh place in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Jeddah circuit, Oliver Bearman is back behind the wheel of a Red car this morning at the Ferrari home race track in Fiorano.
The 18-year-old British driver is lapping around Ferrari’s track in the F1-75, the first ground-effect car developed by the Maranello-based team in this technical cycle, which will conclude at the end of the upcoming Formula 1 season.
Oliver Bearman is ahead of a day dedicated to him on track with demo Pirelli tires, as required by the sporting regulations, and with a car from two years ago. The aim is to continue his development as a driver, doing so behind the wheel of a car very close in terms of technical characteristics to the current ones, having connections with the SF-24 in terms of aerodynamics and mechanics.
The program designed for Ollie Bearman has been planned for some time, taking advantage of the break between two Grands Prix – the one in Jeddah and the upcoming one in Melbourne, Australia – to continue the work that will keep Oliver always ready in case of further need from the Maranello team.

However, this does not mean that it is a test specifically planned with the Australian Grand Prix in mind. As already stated by Fred Vasseur at the end of last weekend, Ferrari expects to have Carlos Sainz regularly in his place and ready to race in Melbourne alongside Charles Leclerc.

The team is expected to conduct another test day tomorrow, but behind the wheel of the F1-75, there should be a familiar face from Formula 1: Antonio Giovinazzi. For the Italian driver, winner of the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hours with the Prancing Horse, it will be his first outing of the season in a Formula 1 car.
