The countdown is almost over for Ferrari’s presentation ahead of the 2027 Formula 1 season, which will be immediately followed by the first on-track test at the Fiorano circuit. Here is where fans should position themselves to get the best possible view of the new Ferrari SF-26.
There is now very little time left before the debut of Maranello’s latest creation, the Ferrari SF-26. After unveiling its new livery to the public, the car will take to the track at Fiorano for its first kilometres of the season, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton sharing driving duties. It is a highly anticipated moment for Ferrari fans, who will be able to follow the first shakedown of the new car up close. Below is a complete guide to the best viewing spots to watch the test.
The date of the SF-26 debut
The Ferrari SF-26 will be officially presented in Maranello tomorrow, Friday 23 January. Immediately after the launch event, as tradition dictates, the new single-seater will make its on-track debut at the Fiorano circuit. Although it will only complete a limited number of laps, the test will be highly significant, as it will mark the first time Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton drive the new car.
The SF-26 is expected to be radically different from its predecessor due to the major regulatory changes that come into force, making this first outing particularly interesting from a technical perspective.
Of course, it will still be far too early to draw any definitive conclusions about the car’s behaviour, also because of the relatively “simple” layout of the Fiorano circuit. The first truly meaningful indications will only emerge during the pre-season tests.
Where to stand at Fiorano
So, where are the best places to watch the SF-26 debut at Fiorano? The recommended viewing areas are mainly two.
The first spot, well known among Ferrari fans as the “Ponte dei Sospiri”, is located along the cycle path on the overpass of Via Abetone Inferiore. From this position, spectators can enjoy an excellent view of the pit lane exit, most of the main straight and the opening corners of the circuit. In the distance, it is also possible to catch glimpses of other sections of the track.
It is worth noting that this is the most crowded viewing point. It tends to fill up very early in the morning, so anyone hoping to secure a good position is advised to arrive well ahead of time. For safety reasons, fans should also pay close attention to the nearby road, which remains open to traffic, and follow the instructions provided by the police and security personnel on site.
The second recommended viewing area is Via Marsala, located not far from the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. This road is closed to traffic and sits behind the pit exit at the final long corner leading onto the main straight. From here, spectators have an excellent view of the final section of the circuit and can watch the SF-26 as it accelerates onto the straight.
