Ferrari shows the 2026 single-seater: the presentation time and the SF-26 shakedown schedule
Ferrari will present the SF-26 livery today, Friday 23 January. The Scuderia will reveal the look that will appear on the 2026 car throughout the season that is about to begin. For the team in red, this represents the final appointment before heading to Barcelona, where the behind-closed-doors pre-season tests will take place.
The day that all fans of the Italian marque had been waiting for has finally arrived. Even if the car we will see is obviously not the definitive version that will take to the track in Australia, we can finally admire the first official images of the new Ferrari. The Italian manufacturer will then bring a further evolution to the Catalan circuit, a version that will already differ from the one that will later appear in Melbourne.
What time Ferrari 2026 will be presented
On the morning of today, 23 January, Ferrari will show the SF-26 for the first time, the car that will debut in the 2026 Formula 1 season. The event will also take place at the Fiorano circuit, where Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will complete the first kilometres with the new car in front of the fans in attendance.
For the presentation, live coverage on Sky will begin at 11:00, available on Sky Sport F1, Sky Sport Uno, Sky Sport 24 and via streaming on Skysport.it as well as on social media platforms. The live broadcast of the Ferrari presentation is scheduled on the Scuderia’s YouTube channel at 11:30 and is also available here.
This will be followed by comments from key figures within the team and the shakedown on the Fiorano track. The SF-26 is expected to complete its first laps for purely celebratory purposes. Track activity should then conclude around 14:00, with the two drivers traditionally greeting the fans gathered at the circuit.
The team will release the first images of the car, which will not include all the technical details that will later be seen on track at upcoming events. Ferrari will in fact fly to Barcelona with a single-seater that is not yet in its final specification. The focus will shift fully to performance only once the paddock arrives in Bahrain for the second phase of winter testing.
The importance of the upcoming season
The 2026 season will be of fundamental importance for Ferrari. The regulation changes have revolutionised Formula 1, creating an opportunity for those who found themselves chasing last season. The cornerstones of the new regulations are undoubtedly the Power Units and the fuels, and the work carried out by the different manufacturers in these areas will be decisive.
The Maranello-based Scuderia arrives with an alternative solution, one that has nothing to do with Mercedes’ approach. The Italian team’s engineers have developed a steel cylinder head for the engine, which should guarantee greater reliability at the expense of additional weight. This represents a direction that differs from the competition and could deliver a significant advantage, especially in the early phase of the life cycle of these new Power Units.
Weight is also proving to be a complex challenge for the teams. Various rumours from the paddock suggest that only a few cars have reached the minimum weight limit, with one believed to be Audi. The other teams are expected to reach the limit only after a few races, much as happened in 2022, particularly in Red Bull’s case.
