Fred Vasseur’s team has seen the departure of two engineers who have worked for Ferrari over the past few years. The two technicians, Kristofer M. and Silvio Capasso, are now part of Alpine after spending 11 and 6 years respectively with the Italian outfit.
The Prancing Horse bids farewell to two engineers who are now working with Alpine, the team overseen by Flavio Briatore, which has been undergoing major changes in recent months. The French squad has recruited directly from the Modena-based team: the two figures who made the move from Maranello to Enstone are Kristofer M. and Silvio Capasso, who joined Ferrari in 2014 and 2019, respectively.
Ferrari: Who are the engineers that just joined Alpine?
Kristofer M. leaves Maranello after years of serving as a key figure in Ferrari’s aerodynamics department. The now-former Ferrari engineer departs the Scuderia after eleven years. Between 2022 and 2025, he held the role of Principal Aerodynamicist. Prior to that, from 2019 to early 2022, he was in charge of floor development for the car, playing a crucial role in its evolution.
As for Silvio Capasso, the Italian engineer—educated at the Polytechnic University of Turin—leaves Maranello after six years. He joined the Prancing Horse in 2019 and had held prominent roles in modeling and simulation before departing.
Both engineers are now fully operational at Alpine. Their exits from Ferrari were not abrupt; both Kristofer M. and Silvio Capasso served a gardening leave of at least five months before officially joining Flavio Briatore’s team.
