Six races from the end of the 2025 season, Ferrari remains without a single win. The most alarming aspect is that this year was supposed to mark a turning point for the Scuderia, aiming to reclaim triumph after almost two decades. Yet this has not materialized, leading to a progressively critical situation within Maranello, with team principal Fréd Vasseur unable to correct course so far.
Ferrari, new unrest in Sporting Management
In recent days, rumors suggested a confrontation in Singapore between Fred Vasseur and Matteo Togninalli. Togninalli serves as Head of the Track Engineering Department, coordinating all technical trackside activities during race weekends. Ferrari quickly denied any heated dispute after the rumors emerged, although the relationship between the two is reportedly not ideal. Togninalli was considered one of the main figures responsible for the disqualification in China due to excessive plank wear, leading deputy team principal Ambrosio to scrutinize his work.
Since then, Matteo Togninalli reportedly regained some of Fred Vasseur’s trust. However, Corriere della Sera highlighted that the internal atmosphere remains tense: “The situation has now escalated. Tense relationships within the team, too many errors in car setup, modifications, and race weekend execution. This explains why Ferrari often starts well in free practice with baseline simulator settings, only to falter at critical moments.”
Several factors contribute to the SF-25’s drop-off after FP1, including issues with the plank and suspension systems. While the track engineering department is not the only weak point within Ferrari, it is certainly an area that requires urgent correction to prevent further setbacks.
