F1 | Ferrari 2024 car: details emerge amid cautious optimism

After officially revealing the presentation date of the new Ferrari, Fred Vasseur has made some statements regarding the details they are focusing on for the 2024 Formula 1 car. Despite a forgettable season, Ferrari was the only team capable of beating Red Bull in the 2023 Formula One season. A victory in Singapore with Carlos Sainz driving the SF-23, showcasing remarkable race management for all laps to cover. A season where they also lost the Constructors’ Championship position to Mercedes, going from second place in 2022 to third this year.

After disclosing the presentation date of the new car, Frederic Vasseur was asked about how the 2024 car would be. The manager from France was questioned if the new single-seater would be a “revolution” compared to the SF-23.

“I don’t know if that’s the right word. It’s been three years in a row that we have the same regulations; you can’t radically change the situation,” commented Fred Vasseur – “It’s again a matter of tenths of a second, which means 0.1% or 0.2% of performance to find. Surely, we have to take a step forward, and we can’t underestimate it. The car will be new at 95%, we will change almost all components, and saying it like that would seem like a revolution, but it’s not,” Fred Vasseur continued.

“In the end, as I’ve said before, we have to focus on ourselves; that’s the expectation. We are making a good step forward, but, in the end, it’s always a matter of comparison. You can improve by 100, but if others improve by 120, we will still be behind, whereas if they improved by 80, it could be fantastic.” – the Ferrari boss pointed out.

“So far, the most important thing is to keep pushing, keep developing, have the drivers at the center of the project and involved in development. For now, we are going in the right direction; I don’t know how the others are doing; we will see everything in Bahrain,” concluded Fred Vasseur.
