After a demanding 2025 season, Charles Leclerc is preparing for a truly extraordinary way to unwind. The Ferrari driver, who finished fifth in the drivers’ championship while Ferrari concluded the Constructors’ Championship in fourth with 398 points, has decided to take a remarkable vacation alongside his fiancée, Alexandra Saint Mleux.
Charles Leclerc’s special Antarctic journey
In a video shared with Ferrari partner UniCredit, Charles Leclerc revealed his plans for recharging ahead of the 2026 season. “I’m about to embark on a very, very special trip,” Charles Leclerc explained. “I’ll be going to Antarctica.” This off-the-beaten-path experience will not only provide a mental reset but will also be shared with his future wife, Alexandra Saint Mleux.
A blend of adventure, training, and culture
The trip is more than just a break from racing. “It will be a way to recharge the batteries. Of course, there will also be plenty of training,” Charles Leclerc noted. He emphasized the personal and cultural significance of the journey. “It’s not only about training, but also about discovering a unique place in the world and understanding what it’s really like to experience it in person.”
Reflecting on the 2025 season
Charles Leclerc ended the season with a fourth-place finish at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, just behind Max Verstappen and the two McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. “I gave everything, and the team executed the race perfectly. Unfortunately, fourth place was the best we could achieve,” he admitted after the race.
The regret of missing the podium still lingers. “I really wanted to end the season with a podium. I was close to Lando at several points, but it wasn’t enough.”
Charles Leclerc also congratulated the new World Champion. “Congratulations to Lando on his first title. He did an incredible job, and it’s absolutely deserved.” He then turned his thoughts to Ferrari and the Tifosi. “Thanks to the entire team on track and in Maranello, and to the fans for their constant support. It was a tough season.”
Looking ahead with caution
As for the future, Charles Leclerc remains measured. “Next season is a blank page. We don’t know where the other teams will be, so we have no real expectations.” Yet after the Antarctic adventure, work will resume immediately. “We’ll return to Maranello to focus fully on preparation, with simulator sessions and a lot of work.”
This extreme break will give the Monegasque driver the energy to chase the only goal that truly matters: victory.
