Explained: how Ferrari was misled into major design flaw amid SF-23 F1 development. Ferrari's 2023 F1 Misstep: A Deep Dive into Design Flaw of SF-23 .

Scuderia Ferrari entered the 2023 Formula One season with high hopes for the championship, fueled by its strong performance in 2022. However, a few hours of pre-season testing quickly revealed the stark reality that these aspirations were not attainable, given the considerable advancements Red Bull had made. When measured against the Red Bull RB19, the Ferrari SF23 was undoubtedly a letdown.

In this video we take a look at how Scuderia Ferrari was misled into major design flaw with the development of its SF-23 car.

Blaming all of Ferrari’s problems on the sidepod concept is a fantasy fed by Enrico Cardile.
Cardile ignores the superior Red Bull extreme anti-dive front and anti-dive rear suspension, and the highly complex intricately detailed Red Bull underfloor. Ferrari are mikes behind Red Bull in these areas.
Ground effects aerodynamics need a stable level ride height. For that you need a good suspension. F1 learned this lesson in the original ground effects era of 1977 -1982.
Cardile said he thinks suspension set ups are overrated. Adrian Newey disagrees. Newey knows how important a good suspension is for a stable level ride height which is necessary for consistent ground effects downforce. Too bad Ferrari management can’t see Cardile is wrong. He has been wrong since 2019.
