Former Ferrari engineer Luigi Mazzola has commented on the Scuderia’s disappointing performance at the Singapore Grand Prix, highlighting serious concerns about the team’s cohesion and approach to challenges.
Ferrari remains anonymous in Singapore
Even in Singapore, Ferrari failed to show any signs of recovery. Neither Charles Leclerc nor Lewis Hamilton managed to reach the top positions in qualifying or in the race. Both drivers finished sixth and seventh respectively in qualifying and in the race, swapping positions, reflecting how the SF-25 simply did not match their individual talent levels.
Mazzola’s analysis
Luigi Mazzola, who spent many years at Ferrari, shared his immediate reactions on Instagram, focusing on the Red team’s performance: “McLaren has won the Constructors’ Championship, congratulations to them for the incredible work they’ve done. The only title remaining is the Drivers’ Championship, which Max Verstappen will still try to win even though he starts at a disadvantage.”
“It was a fantastic weekend for George Russell with pole position and a race dominated from the first lap. Max Verstappen gave his best to secure second place, winning a hard-fought battle with Lando Norris, who finished third. Oscar Piastri had a solo race with no major highlights after the first-lap duel with his teammate.”
“Ferrari was completely out of the fight, even struggling with brake reliability issues affecting Lewis Hamilton. Sixth and seventh place without any glory. Red Bull and Mercedes were able to bring significant upgrades that clearly improved their performance, while Ferrari limits itself to justifying results and always finding a silver lining, even in embarrassing situations. Once again, the team was very disappointing, finishing 45 seconds behind the leader, without showing the cohesion and teamwork that could give hope for the future.”
