Check out Enzo Ferrari’s letter to Jean Todt from 1985 after the Frenchman’s win in the World Championship of Rally with Peugeot. The translation can be found after the letter:

Maranello, September 11th 1985
Kind Todt, in the occasion of the victory of Peugeot in the Rally World Championship I want to send you and expression of satisfaction for your house achievement.
This event brings me back to 1913 when teenager, reading “La Stampa Automobilistica Illustrata” (Pictured automobilistic newspaper) I saw a picture of Goux’s Peugeot victorious on the Indianapolis ring, destined to become famous in the world like Le Mans.
Six years later, debuting in the Targa Florio, I saw closely the Peugeot of Boillot crossing victorious the finish line of that first edition after the war.
I add my surprise when, in 1923 in Paris, one evening I was dining at the “Brasserie Universelle”, flipping over a pepper grinder I read the words “Brevet Peugeot”
These first meetings had a follow up when I met your technical designer, the Italian Ing. Giorgio Boschetti; while I was buying some of your models; Ferrari had the pleasure to supply since 1964 Roland Peugeout of various Gran Turismo cars.
This victorious return of Peugeot at the highest level in the field of technological and developmental research convince me even more that the future of automobile, born and improved thanks to the races, still is into the sport.
