FIA WEC 2025 – Ferrari knows nothing is decided yet
After five rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship 2025, the battle for the Hypercar crown remains fiercely contested. Ferrari sits at the top of the standings, but the Italian manufacturer cannot yet feel secure. The most recent round in Brazil reshuffled the leaderboard, crowning a new winner in Cadillac and reminding everyone that in such a competitive championship, even a small mistake can be incredibly costly.
Ferrari leads, but the championship is far from settled
The Scuderia Ferrari Hypercar has demonstrated both speed and reliability throughout the season, securing key results that currently place it in the lead. However, the margin at the top is narrow, and rivals are never far behind. Cadillac’s surprise victory at Interlagos broke the streak of the traditional top contenders, proving that the 2025 grid is more balanced than ever before and that dominance is never guaranteed.
Toyota and Porsche step up the challenge
Toyota, Ferrari’s long-standing rival and the reigning Constructors’ champion, is ready to capitalize on every opportunity. The return of Sebastien Buemi strengthens a team known for performing under pressure, capable of turning a championship on its head even in the final stages. Porsche is also reasserting itself, with its top crews finding consistency after a somewhat inconsistent start to the season, signaling that the fight for supremacy is far from over.
The element of surprise
Beyond the established giants, manufacturers like Cadillac and Peugeot remain unpredictable threats. Both teams are capable of isolated victories and are close enough in performance to seize any mistakes made by the front runners. Cadillac’s recent triumph in Brazil, combined with its upcoming home race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, underscores how the variety of contenders is a defining feature of the 2025 season.
A thrilling second half of the season
With three rounds still to come, beginning with the next race in Austin, Texas, the championship is entirely up for grabs. Japan and Bahrain will follow, offering both manufacturers and drivers the chance to secure their place in endurance racing history. Ferrari knows it holds a significant opportunity, but the relentless pressure from rivals allows no room for error.
The 2025 WEC season is shaping up to be one of the most fiercely contested Hypercar campaigns to date. Ferrari may lead the standings, but the fight is only halfway through. In endurance racing, the real battle always begins in the countdown to the next event, where strategy, teamwork, and reliability can turn the tide in an instant.
