A bitter blow for Ferrari
Misfortune struck Ferrari at Zandvoort during the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix. The Maranello team attempted the undercut with Charles Leclerc, who was running in fifth place just behind Isack Hadjar. At that precise moment, Lewis Hamilton made a costly mistake at Turn 3, going off track and crashing into the barriers. His incident forced the deployment of the Safety Car, which changed the entire course of the strategy.
As a direct consequence, Charles Leclerc lost the track position he was holding. Instead of rejoining in fifth, he dropped back to sixth place, falling behind George Russell as well. The Mercedes driver was able to take advantage of the Safety Car period to move ahead of the Monegasque. Leclerc, visibly frustrated, showed his disappointment over the unfortunate timing of the event, although the setback did not result in a dramatic loss of positions for him in the standings.
Lewis Hamilton’s struggles continue
For Lewis Hamilton, the incident marked his second consecutive Grand Prix without scoring points. After finishing only twelfth in Hungary, the seven-time world champion left Zandvoort empty-handed once again. He will now look to turn the page at Monza, where he will compete in his first Italian Grand Prix as a Ferrari driver, hoping to finally return to the points in front of the passionate Tifosi.
