Dutch GP hoping to stay on Formula 1 calendar longer. Dutch GP hoping to stay on Formula 1 calendar longer.

The Dutch Grand Prix weekend has been very well by national and international media so far: not too many traffic jams, very good accessibility and an outstanding track for the fans and the driver. Everything indicates that the organisation of the race can be proud of what they have achieved and Sporting director Jan Lammers also hears these sounds from the Formula 1 paddock.

“I spoke to people from Formula 1and television yesterday and they are also excited about what you can do in terms of TV direction. At times you think ‘am I watching Indianapolis now and then it’s Monaco again’,” Jan Lammers admits, as reported by Motorsport.com.

FOM enthusiastic about Zandvoort
Zandvoort’s contract with Formula One Management states that they will be on the calendar for three years, with an option for two additional years. According to the former Formula 1 driver it’s only a matter of time before the option in the contract is actually lifted.

“I don’t have the decision-making power to say ‘we’re going to continue for two more years’. Whether I assume it or not is not very important, but I think the FOM does plan on it. They are very happy with us and they are making that known on all sides”, Jan Lammers added.
