Circuit of the Americas will return to the calendar after an absence of two seasons.
The FIA has confirmed the zones where it will be possible to exploit the DRS system in the United States Grand Prix, the 17th round of the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship.
After the victory scored by Valtteri Bottas in Istanbul and the second place of Max Verstappen in a not positive weekend, teams and drivers will return to battle at the Circuit of the Americas, a Texan track that due to the Coronavirus emergency has been absent from the calendar since 2019.
The race commission, for the weekend, has chosen to activate two DRS zones, which will be positioned on the main straight of the COTA circuit and in the straight leading from turns 11 to 12. There are two activation points, which will be placed before turns 19 and 11.
The weekend program, as usual, includes two free sessions lasting one hour on Friday and FP3 on Saturday morning. These 60 minutes of work on the track will be the last opportunity for teams and drivers to work on the set-up in view of qualifying, scheduled for the same day
Green light on Sunday afternoon.
