When it comes to Christmas shopping, everyone seems to have their own method. Some people buy everything weeks in advance, while others wait until the final days before the holidays. According to Charles Leclerc, his approach sits somewhere in between, and in a rather unusual way.
In a recent video, the Ferrari driver was asked whether he prefers to buy gifts early or leave everything to the last minute. His answer revealed a clear split between planning and action, something many fans will likely find very relatable.
“So the thought process, I like to think about it early on, the buying process,” Charles Leclerc explained. “I’m one of the last ones on earth, I think, buying the presents for people.”
Charles Leclerc went on to clarify that while ideas come together well in advance, the actual shopping almost always happens late. “So, yeah, the thought process very much in advance, the buying process very late,” he added, perfectly summarising his personal routine.
This habit reflects a side of Leclerc that fans often see in his professional life as well. On track, preparation and analysis are essential, but circumstances sometimes force last-minute decisions. Off the track, his gift-giving style seems to follow a similar pattern, with careful thinking followed by a delayed execution.
For many supporters, the admission is instantly recognisable. Finding the right idea early does not always translate into early purchases, especially with a busy schedule like that of a Formula 1 driver, constantly travelling between races, simulator sessions and team commitments.
Moments like this help paint a more human picture of life in Formula 1, showing that even drivers at the highest level deal with everyday habits and small seasonal stresses just like everyone else. Whether early planners or last-minute buyers, fans can likely see a bit of themselves in Charles Leclerc’s approach.
